Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Colombo to Wilpattu
Drive north to Wilpattu National Park — Sri Lanka's largest and oldest park, famous for leopards and sloth bears.
Day 2
Wilpattu Full Day Safari
Two game drives through the villa-dotted wilderness of Wilpattu.
Day 3
Minneriya Elephant Gathering
Witness hundreds of elephants converging at Minneriya Reservoir in what National Geographic calls the Greatest Show on Earth.
Day 4
Transfer to Yala
Drive south through the hill country to Yala National Park.
Day 5
Yala Safari — Leopard Territory
Full day in Yala Block 1, the world's best location for leopard sightings. Also: elephants, crocodiles, buffalo and endemic birds.
Day 6
Bundala & Coastal Drive
Morning at Bundala Ramsar Wetland for flamingos and migratory birds. Afternoon coastal drive.
Day 7
Return to Colombo
Scenic drive back to Colombo via the southern coast.
